Thai Tea Recipe

Samia
Thai Tea Recipe is a sweet, creamy iced beverage made from Thai black tea, condensed and evaporated milk, sugar, and served over ice, with a rich, aromatic flavor. I decided to make this Thai tea recipe because I have past experience preparing it and enjoy creating authentic flavors at home.

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Strainer or fine mesh sieve
  • Spoon
  • Glasses for serving

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Thai tea mix Thai black tea leaves
  • 2 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 –2 teaspoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

Step 1: Brew The Tea

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in a saucepan. Add the Thai tea leaves, then lower the heat. Let the tea simmer for about 3–5 minutes, until the colour deepens and the aroma is rich. Strain out the leaves and pour the tea into a heat safe container.

Step 2: Sweeten And Cool

  • While the tea is still warm, stir in the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and sugar if you’re using it. Mix well until everything is smooth and blended. Allow the tea to cool slightly, then chill it in the refrigerator or pour it directly over ice.

Step 3: Serve

  • Fill serving glasses with ice and pour the tea over the top. Finish with a light drizzle of evaporated milk for a creamy finish. Serve right away and enjoy.
