- In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and water.
- Whisk all ingredients together until smooth and fully combined. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly. Add a splash of water if the sauce becomes too thick.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed add more sugar for sweetness, vinegar for tang, or spices for extra kick.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the amount of brown sugar and molasses to suit your taste preferences. For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
If the sauce becomes too thick after refrigeration, simply warm it up and stir in a little water to reach the desired consistency.
