Calories 45 kcal
- 2 cups fresh ripe plums pitted and chopped (approx. 4–5 medium plums)
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- Juice of ½ a lemon
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- Optional: Mixed vegetables for grilling or kabobs
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Add The Fruit And Liquids
Throw in the chopped plums, followed by the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Give everything a good stir so it’s well mixed.
Season And Let It Simmer
Sprinkle in the cinnamon, ground ginger, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Bring it all to a gentle boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer uncovered for about 20 to 25 minutes. Stir it now and then so nothing sticks to the bottom.
I encourage you to taste as you go. If your plums are sweeter, dial back the brown sugar. Prefer some heat? Add cayenne or even a small diced chili.
The beauty of this sauce lies in its flexibility you can tailor it to your taste and make it truly your own.
