Peach Habanero BBQ Sauce blends sweet peaches, fiery habanero peppers, and vinegar for a perfect balance of heat and sweetness. Simmered with brown sugar, garlic, onion, and spices, it creates a rich, bold flavor ideal for grilling. Great on chicken, ribs, or burgers, this homemade sauce adds a spicy-sweet kick to any dish.
1Tbspfresh ginger paste or finely grated fresh ginger
2Tbspolive oil
1 ½cupsketchup
1cuptomato sauce
¼cupapple cider vinegar
⅓cupbrown sugar
2Tbsppeach preserves or peach nectar
1tspsmoked paprika
1tspdry mustard powder
¼tspkosher saltor to taste
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Saute Aromatics:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, saute the diced onion for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add garlic, ginger, and chopped habaneros. Cook for 2 more minutes, stirring frequently.
Add Fruits & Sauces:
Stir in the diced peaches, ketchup, tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, peach preserves or nectar, smoked paprika, dry mustard powder, and kosher salt.
Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 20–25 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Blend:
Once the sauce has thickened and peaches are soft, remove from heat. Use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree until smooth. (Be careful blending hot liquids!)
Season & Finish:
Taste and adjust with additional salt, pepper, or sugar as needed. Let cool slightly before transferring to jars or containers.
Store:
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer shelf life.
