Instructions
Combine Everything
Grab a medium-sized pot and toss in all your ingredients: sugar, vinegar, tomato juice (or water if that’s what you’re using), onion powder, dry mustard, turmeric, black pepper, cayenne, garlic powder, sea salt, tomato paste, ketchup, oil, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
Mix It Up
Whisk everything together until it looks smooth and well blended. You want all the spices and liquids to come together into a consistent sauce.
Let It Simmer
Put the pot on the stove over medium heat. Once it starts bubbling gently, turn the heat down low. Let it simmer uncovered for about 15 to 20 minutes. Stir every now and then so it doesn’t stick or burn, and to help the flavours develop.
Taste And Tweak
Give it a taste. If you want more kick, add a bit more cayenne. Need more tang? A splash of vinegar will do it. Adjust it to your liking.
Cool And Store
Once it’s done cooking, take it off the heat and let it cool down. Pour the sauce into a clean jar or container with a lid. Pop it in the fridge.
