This Oyster Mushroom Recipe features fresh mushrooms sautéed in olive oil and butter with garlic, thyme, and parsley. It’s a simple, flavorful dish that comes together quickly, making it a great side or topping. The mushrooms develop a rich, savory taste and tender texture, enhanced by fresh herbs, creating a delicious, healthy option for any meal.
Gently wipe the oyster mushrooms with a damp cloth or paper towel to get rid of any dirt try not to rinse them under water so they don’t get soggy. Then tear or slice them into bite sized pieces.
Step 2, Heat The Pan:
Put a large skillet on medium heat and add the olive oil and butter. Let the butter melt and the oil get nice and hot, shimmering in the pan.
Step 3, Cook The Garlic:
Toss in the finely chopped garlic and cook it for about a minute until you can smell that lovely aroma just be careful not to burn it.
Step 4, Saute The Mushrooms:
Add the mushrooms to the pan in a single layer. Let them cook without stirring for 3 to 4 minutes so they get a nice brown colour on one side. After that, give them a stir every now and then for another 6 or 7 minutes, until they’re tender and golden all over.
Step 5, Season:
Sprinkle in some salt and freshly ground black pepper, and throw in a few sprigs of fresh thyme. Give everything a good stir and let it cook for another couple of minutes so the flavours come together.
Step 6, Finish With Parsley:
Take the pan off the heat, pull out the thyme sprigs, and mix in the chopped Italian parsley.
Step 7, Serve:
Scoop the mushrooms onto a plate and serve them warm as a tasty side or appetizer.
