Get The Oven And Pan Ready:
- Start by heating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a square cake pan and dust it with flour to keep the cake from sticking.
Mix The Dry Stuff:
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set this mix aside for now.
Cream The Butter And Sugar:
- In a big bowl, beat the softened butter with the sugar using an electric mixer until it looks light and fluffy.
Add Eggs And Vanilla:
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Then pour in the vanilla and give it a good stir.
Bring It All Together:
- Now slowly add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, alternating between them. Start and finish with the dry ingredients. Mix just until everything is combined don’t overdo it.
Bake Your Cake:
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for about 35-40 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.
Let It Cool:
- Once baked, let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Get Ready To Decorate:
- Lightly dust your work surface with powdered sugar and roll out the marzipan. Color small sections with red food colouring to match the Minecraft block colours think reds, browns, and greens.
Add Jam And Buttercream:
- Spread a thin layer of cherry or strawberry jam on the cooled cake to help the buttercream stick. Then, either spread or pipe the chocolate buttercream evenly over the jam.
Create The Minecraft Blocks:
- Cut your coloured marzipan into little squares or rectangles to look like Minecraft blocks. Arrange them carefully on top of the buttercream to build your pix elated design.
