Kentucky BBQ sauce is a rich, flavourful blend known for its unique balance of sweet, tangy, and smoky notes. Often featuring ingredients like molasses, vinegar, and a touch of spice, it complements smoked meats perfectly especially pork and ribs. In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and onion. Saute for 2–3 minutes, until fragrant and translucent.
Add Spices:
Stir in chili powder, cumin, black pepper, and nutmeg. Cook for 1 minute to bloom the spices.
Incorporate Liquids & Sweeteners:
Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, cola, lemon juice, vinegar, Tabasco, and bourbon. Stir to combine.
Simmer:
Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let it thicken to your desired consistency.
Final Touches:

Cool & Store:
