- In a medium saucepan, add ketchup, honey, golden yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, and hot sauce. Whisk together until smooth. Stir in smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Let the sauce simmer for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken slightly and develop a rich, glossy texture. Use as a glaze, dipping sauce, or marinade for your favorite grilled meats or veggies.
Notes
Swap light corn syrup for honey if you’d like a more neutral sweetness. Add a drop of liquid smoke for a strong campfire flavor. Reduce by simmering longer; for thinner sauce, add a splash of water or vinegar.
