Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Grill pan or outdoor grill
  • Tongs or spatula

Ingredients

  • 300 –400 g fresh mushrooms button, cremini, or a mix, cleaned and patted dry
  • 2 –3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar or soy sauce
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp finely minced parsley

Instructions

Mix The Marinade

  • Stir together some olive oil, minced garlic, a splash of balsamic vinegar or soy sauce, plus a bit of salt and black pepper. Add the mushrooms and toss them until they’re fully coated. Let them sit for about 10 minutes so they can soak up the flavours.

Grill The Mushrooms

  • Warm up a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Melt a small amount of butter on the surface, then lay the mushrooms on the grill. Cook them for about 5–7 minutes on each side, until they’re browned, tender, and slightly charred.

Serve Them Up

  • Take the mushrooms off the grill and toss them right away with the rest of the butter. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley and serve while they’re still warm great as a side or a simple appetiser.
