Devils Spit BBQ Sauce Recipe is a fiery, bold sauce made with ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic, onion, black pepper, crushed red pepper, hot sauce, and chicken bouillon. I made this sauce to bring intense flavor and heat to grilled or smoked meats. I was inspired after seeing chefs create spicy BBQ sauces that balance sweetness and heat.
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Pour in the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, water, brown sugar, and molasses (or honey). Stir everything together until it forms a smooth, even mixture.
Step 2 – Add The Seasonings:
Mix in the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne, red pepper flakes, and chicken bouillon. Whisk well so the spices blend evenly throughout the sauce.
Step 3 – Simmer And Cook:
Turn the heat down to medium-low and let the sauce simmer gently. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens a bit and all the flavours come together.
Step 4 – Finish And Serve:
Stir in 1 tablespoon of hot sauce (habanero works great) at the end. Taste the sauce and tweak the seasoning if needed. Take it off the heat and let it cool slightly before serving. Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
