Dahi Mushroom is a simple Indian dish featuring mushrooms cooked in a spiced yogurt sauce with peas and onions. It combines mild spices and creamy yogurt for a flavorful, nutritious meal. Easy to prepare, it pairs well with rice or bread and can be enjoyed as a main course or side dish, perfect for everyday meals.
Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Toss in finely chopped onions and cook them until they turn a nice golden brown. Then add the ginger garlic paste and cook it for another minute or two until you can smell that lovely aroma.
Add The Spices And Veggies:
Sprinkle in turmeric, coriander powder, and a pinch of salt. Give everything a good stir. Now add the sliced mushrooms and green peas. Cook them together for about 5 to 7 minutes, until the mushrooms start to soften and release their juices.
Mix In The Yogurt:
Turn the heat down to low and slowly pour in the whisked yogurt, stirring constantly so it doesn’t curdle. Add your mixed masala powder and blend it all well.
Let It Simmer And Enjoy:
Let the whole thing cook gently on low for another 5 to 7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and all the flavours come together. Taste and adjust the salt if needed. Serve it warm with rice or roti.
