- 1 cup ketchup
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and maple syrup. Whisk until smooth.
Mix in the brown sugar, curry powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, cayenne pepper, and salt.
Reduce heat to low and let the Curry BBQ Sauce simmer gently for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cooks.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed add more cayenne for heat, more vinegar for tang, or a touch of maple syrup for extra sweetness.
Remove from heat. Allow the Curry BBQ Sauce to cool before transferring it to a jar or airtight container.
Spiciness: Adjust cayenne to taste. For thinner sauce, add a splash of water or vinegar during simmer.
