Coopers BBQ Sauce is a flavorful blend of tangy vinegar, sweet sugar, and spices like paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. This homemade sauce brings bold, savory flavors to grilled meats, burgers, or veggies. It’s easy to prepare, customizable to your taste, and works wonderfully as a marinade or dipping sauce. The rich and zesty flavour makes every meal more delicious and memorable.
Start by adding the ketchup, white vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if you like some heat), black pepper, salt, olive oil, celery sauce, and Heinz 57 steak sauce into a large pot or saucepan.
Stir everything together until it’s fully blended, making sure the sugar dissolves completely into the mix.
Heat it over medium heat and bring it to a simmer. Once it starts bubbling, turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for about 40 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking or burning.
After 40 minutes, check the sauce’s thickness. It should have thickened slightly. If it’s still too runny, let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes. If it’s too thick, add a bit more vinegar or water to loosen it up.
Once it’s the right consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool. Then transfer it into jars or bottles for storage.
This homemade sauce goes great with grilled meats, burgers, ribs, or any BBQ dish. It’s perfect with both chicken and beef!
