Burger BBQ Sauce Recipe is a smoky, tangy, slightly sweet condiment made with barbecue sauce, ketchup, spices, and mayo, perfect for enhancing burgers and sandwiches. I made this Burger BBQ Sauce Recipe because I have long experience preparing homemade sauces and enjoy improving classic recipes. I was inspired while watching a cook prepares a similar sauce during a backyard barbecue, blending sweet and tangy elements.
Warm the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and BBQ sauce. Whisk everything together until smooth.
Step 2: Add Flavor And Simmer
Mix in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Lower the heat and let the sauce gently simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring now and then, until it thickens and develops a rich sheen.
Step 3: Cool And Finish
Take the pan off the heat and let the sauce rest for about 5 minutes. Pour it into a bowl, then whisk in the mayonnaise and pickle relish until creamy and well blended.
Step 4: Use Or Save
Spread it on burgers right away, or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s great on hamburger buns or served on the side for dipping.
