Combine Ingredients:
- In a medium saucepan, add all the ingredients ketchup, vinegar, molasses, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne, black pepper, celery salt, both mustards, Tabasco, and Worcestershire sauce.
Stir & Simmer:
- Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine all ingredients. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook Down:
- Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and fragrant.
Cool & Store:
- Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool. Pour into a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate.
Notes
Try adding a teaspoon of liquid smoke if you want an even bolder smoky flavour. Increase molasses or brown sugar by a tablespoon for a sweeter profile.
Add extra cayenne or a dash of hot sauce for heat lovers. Substitute Worcestershire sauce with soy sauce or tamari.
