Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or any vegetable oil, adjust as needed
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp sugar or honey
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Start by prepping your ingredients: slice the mushrooms and onion, finely mince the garlic, and grate the ginger.
  • Warm up a splash of olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.
  • Toss in the garlic, ginger, and onions. Stir them around for a couple of minutes until everything smells amazing and the onions begin to soften.
  • Add the mushrooms to the pan. Keep stirring as they cook, letting them release their juices and turn golden brown this usually takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in the sugar or honey along with some crushed red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat. Pour the soy sauce over everything and give it a good stir. Let it cook for another minute or two until the sauce soaks in.
  • Take the pan off the heat and transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish. Finish it off with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and it’s ready to enjoy!
