Ingredients
  

  • 250 grams ash gourd winter melon / wax gourd, peeled, deseeded, and chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Arabian sea salt
  • A pinch of black pepper or roasted cumin powder
  • Ice cubes as needed, optional

Instructions
 

Get The Gourd Ready:

  • Start by peeling the ash gourd. Scoop out all the seeds and discard them along with the peel. Then chop the flesh into small, bite sized cubes.

Time To Blend:

  • Throw the chopped ash gourd into a blender along with a small piece of fresh ginger. Add about half a cup of water, then blend everything together until it’s smooth and a bit frothy.

Strain It:

  • If you like your juice clear, pour it through a fine strainer or cheesecloth to remove the pulp. If you’re okay with a thicker texture (and want the extra fiber), skip this step.

Add Flavor And Serve:

  • Squeeze in some fresh lemon juice, sprinkle a little Arabian sea salt, and add a pinch of black pepper or roasted cumin powder whichever you prefer. Stir it all well, pour the juice over some ice cubes, and enjoy it fresh.
